5 signs that you might be living life on autopilot

Have you ever felt like you were living your life on autopilot? Going through the motions, completing task after task, but not really feeling present or connected to what you’re doing?

Here are some key signs to look for if you think you may be living your life this way:

  • You feel stuck and stagnant – nothing is getting accomplished

  • You feel confused – no steps to move forward

  • You tend to worry a lot – everything is channeled into a negative pattern

  • You feel lack of energy – you feel a lot of inertia

  • You procrastinate – everything always goes on the back burner

I like to look at this as not being on a path or in a state of flow. When you are in a state of flow, things happen easier, you see opportunities more quickly and connections just tend to happen.

So, how to move? Recognizing and feeling into the blocks. I’d start with looking at fear and see if it’s playing a role here. Here is an exercise from Gay Hendricks that you may like, called “Fear Melters”.

I believe strong connection to mind/body/spirit, away from distractions (TV/cell phone), can really put you into contact with yourself and begin the process of moving away from autopilot.
